Aragon AI is one of the biggest AI headshot companies, and for a LinkedIn photo, a company directory or a résumé it is a strong, well-reviewed choice with a one-time price. TrueLook does a narrower job: everyday, phone-style dating photos for Tinder, Hinge and Bumble, made from 4 selfies, with your face kept as it is. If you mainly need a professional headshot, choose Aragon; if you mainly need a varied, believable dating profile, TrueLook fits that job better.
This page explains how Aragon works, what it costs at the time of writing, what its privacy policy and refund policy actually say, what customers report, and where each product is the better buy. Every fact about Aragon comes from its own pages or a public review platform, opened on 2 November 2026 and listed in the sources at the end.
What Aragon AI is and how it works
Aragon AI, Inc. is a California company; its terms of service give its address as Covina, California. In a February 2026 post marking three years since launch, co-founder and CEO Wesley Tian wrote that the team built Aragon in early 2023, and reported more than 2 million users and more than 40 million generated photos. The same post says, in so many words, that Aragon is "not just an AI headshot company anymore", and the site's menus now reflect that: alongside headshots there is a photo editor, a fashion studio, AI video tools, audio tools and a page of third-party image and video models.
Headshots are still the core product. Aragon's homepage calls the company "the #1 AI headshot company", says it is trusted by over 2.8 million professionals and teams, and shows corporate logos. Its headshot menu is organised around careers: professional headshots, real estate headshots, LinkedIn headshots, lawyer headshots, residency headshots and headshots for teams. Dating photos sit in a separate "Photo Generator" menu next to Christmas, graduation, yearbook, travel and glamour photos.
The headshot workflow
- Upload a handful of photos. Aragon does not publish a fixed number on its main pages. The homepage says "a few uploads are all you need", recommends quality over quantity and says selfies work well.
- Choose a package. The package sets how many headshots you get, how many outfits and backgrounds you can pick, the image resolution and the stated generation time.
- Pick attire and backgrounds. These are professional choices: suits, blazers, shirts, office and studio backdrops, outdoor city settings.
- Wait for the batch. Aragon trains on your uploads and emails you when the set is ready. Its pricing page lists 15 to 45 minutes depending on the package.
- Review, download and edit. You get the whole batch at once and choose the few you like. Aragon's pricing FAQ offers a free redo if you are unhappy.
This is the classic "batch" model of AI headshots: one training run, one large delivery, and you pick the winners. It suits a job where you need one or two excellent, consistent images and have no need to come back for more.
Aragon's dating photo page
Aragon does market dating photos. Its AI dating photo generator page is headed "Create Profile Photos for Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble", promises "dozens" of photos in varied outfits, poses and backgrounds, and names candid, travel and hobby settings. It does not show a separate price; it points to the general pricing page and says a paid pack or subscription is needed. The page also advertises a "Match Increase Guarantee": a 100% refund through live support "if you don't see a significant increase in either quantity or quality of matches". Its FAQ tells readers to check each dating app's latest terms and says most apps allow AI-assisted photos "as long as the photos accurately represent you". That last point is the right standard, and it is the one this comparison uses.

Aragon pricing in detail
At the time of writing (Nov 2026), Aragon's pricing page lists three individual headshot packages under a banner reading "20% off all packages limited time only!". Each sale price is shown next to a crossed-out higher price.
| Package | Price (list price) | Headshots | Stated time | Outfits and backgrounds | Resolution | Cost per headshot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $35 ($44) | 40 | 45 min | 1 attire, 1 background | 896 × 1088 | $0.88 ($1.10 at list price) |
| Standard (marked "83% pick this plan") | $45 ($56) | 60 | 30 min | 2 attires, 2 backgrounds | 896 × 1088 | $0.75 ($0.93) |
| Executive (marked "Best Value") | $75 ($94) | 100 | 15 min | All attires, all backgrounds | 1792 × 2176 | $0.75 ($0.94) |
A few details matter when you compare it with anything else:
- These packages are one-time payments. You pay once and get one batch. If you want a new batch later, say after a haircut, you buy again.
- There is also a subscription. The pricing page has a separate "Subscription" tab and the dating page mentions subscriptions, but the subscription prices were not visible in the page content we could open, so we do not quote them. Aragon's terms of service say subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled, that you cancel by emailing support from your account address, and that unused credits expire at the end of each period.
- Team pricing is quoted separately. The "Teams Pricing" tab sends companies to a headshots-for-teams page rather than listing prices.
- The discount is presented as time-limited. If it ends, the list prices in brackets apply.

Refunds and redos
Aragon's pricing FAQ offers two routes if you are unhappy: a free redo, by emailing support, or a refund. The refund policy page sets the conditions for headshots: requests must arrive "within 14 calendar days of purchase", and "downloading your photos is considered as using your product". The pricing FAQ adds that if you have already downloaded, support decides case by case. For subscriptions, the window is 14 days from the charge, only the latest payment is covered, and refunds require that no credits were used in that billing period. The terms add that fees are otherwise non-refundable unless the law requires it.
The dating page's "Match Increase Guarantee" reads more generously than the general policy. If you buy Aragon for dating specifically, ask support in writing which conditions apply to your purchase before you download anything.
Output and realism
Aragon's samples show what it is designed to do well: centred, chest-up portraits with even studio-style light, sharp eyes, tidy hair and a neutral or lightly blurred background. The pricing FAQ says the technology produces photos "virtually indistinguishable from traditional photography", and for the headshot format the samples are clean and consistent. The Executive package doubles the resolution, which Aragon positions for print.
That polish is exactly what a professional profile wants. It is less obviously what a dating profile wants, for two separate reasons.
Reason 1: a headshot signals different things
Photofeeler, which crowdsources ratings of profile photos, published a study of more than 60,000 ratings on 800 photos, scored for competence, likability and influence. Its write-up found formal dress gave the biggest boost to competence (+0.94) and influence (+1.29), while a smile with teeth moved likability the most (+1.35), and a laughing smile more still (+1.49). In other words, the levers that make a photo look capable are not the same levers that make it look warm. A headshot generator is tuned for the first set: suits, composure, studio light. A dating profile leans on the second: expression, setting and a sense of what you are like to spend an evening with.
Dating apps also want variety. Hinge's help centre says members need between four and six photos, depending on local requirements. Six near-identical headshots in different blazers do not tell a match much. A useful dating set usually mixes a clear face photo, a full-length photo, something social, an activity and a setting that hints at your life.
Reason 2: the "too perfect" problem
Research on dating photos predates AI but still applies. In a 2009 Journal of Communication study, Hancock and Toma had independent judges compare online daters' photos with how they looked in person; about a third of the photos were judged inaccurate. Among women's photos, the ones judged less accurate were more likely to be retouched or taken by a professional photographer. The lesson is not "never look polished". It is that the more a photo looks staged and smoothed, the bigger the gap a date may notice on meeting you.
AI headshots can add to that gap. Aragon's recent one-star reviews on Trustpilot (covered below) most often describe photos that do not resemble the customer or look artificial. Those are a minority of its reviews, but they are the failure that matters most for dating, where the person across the table compares the photo with your face.
Face verification
Dating apps increasingly check that your photos match your real face. Tinder's Face Check FAQ says it uses a short video selfie, checks that a live person recorded it, and compares it with your profile photos to see whether you appear to be the same person; it is being rolled out in phases where local rules allow. Hinge's Selfie Verification needs at least one crisp, unfiltered front-facing photo, and warns that changing photos after verifying may remove the badge. Bumble's community guidelines require at least one photo that clearly shows your full face and do not allow photos so distorted that it "cannot be clearly determined" that you are the person shown; since July 2024, TechCrunch reported, Bumble users can report a profile for using AI-generated photos.
None of these rules ban a good AI photo of the real you. All of them punish a photo that drifts from your real face. Aragon does not market its headshots as tested for any app's verification, and nor should any tool promise a result: each app makes its own decision. For more detail, see our guide to whether AI photos are allowed on dating apps and what to do when Tinder photo verification fails.
Privacy and data
Aragon's privacy policy is detailed. The main points, paraphrased from the policy page we opened:
- Face data is treated as sensitive. The policy says face data may count as biometric data or sensitive personal information under some laws.
- Deletion within 30 days of a trigger. Aragon says it permanently deletes or anonymises face data within 30 days after the earliest of: delivery of your AI content, a retention period set by your organisation (for team accounts), your deletion request, account closure, or one year from collection. The exception: active subscribers' face data "may be retained until termination, cancellation, or non-renewal" of the subscription.
- No training by vendors. Aragon says it contractually bars its AI service providers from using face data, or your data generally, to train generalised AI models, and that it does not sell, lease or trade face data.
- Own-model training is not spelled out. The policy says Aragon does not identify people in uploads and is not training its technology to do so. It does not plainly say whether your uploads or outputs are used to improve Aragon's own models. Its terms let Aragon use your content and outputs to "provide, maintain, develop, protect and improve" its services, subject to the privacy policy.
- Marketing use of outputs. The terms grant Aragon a broad licence over uploads and allow it to display outputs on its website, galleries and promotional material. You own your outputs as between you and Aragon.
- Advertising data. Separately from face data, the policy says some personal data is shared with advertising partners for cross-context behavioural advertising, with an opt-out link and support for Global Privacy Control.
- Other details. Payments go through Stripe, Paddle or RevenueCat; account data is kept for the life of the account plus 30 days; disputes go to individual arbitration under the terms, with a 30-day opt-out window.
For a headshot buyer, the 30-day deletion after delivery is a reasonable default. If privacy is your main concern, two things are worth doing: delete your uploads from account settings as soon as you have your photos, and read the marketing-use clause in the terms before you buy.
TrueLook's position is simpler to state: your selfies and generated photos are never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any AI model, are not shared with other users or advertisers, and can be deleted from your dashboard at any time.
What users say about Aragon
On 2 November 2026, Aragon's Trustpilot page showed a TrustScore of 4.6 ("Excellent") from 7,351 reviews: 84% five-star, 12% four-star, 2% three-star and about 1% one-star. (Aragon's own homepage displays a 4.9 Trustpilot figure; the live Trustpilot page is the one to trust, and scores move over time.) Trustpilot also showed that Aragon replies to all negative reviews, typically within a day.
- Five-star themes: ease of use, speed, a professional result, good likeness and the saving compared with booking a photographer.
- Three-star themes (late October 2026): uneven quality across a batch, limited choices of outfit, colour, hair and body shape, and bodies that did not match the reviewer's build.
- One-star themes (September to October 2026): the most common complaint was that photos did not look like the customer, followed by an artificial look, unwanted changes to hair, teeth or clothing, and paying extra credits to fix details.
Read together, the reviews describe a product most customers are happy with for its intended use, with a minority who did not recognise themselves. For dating, that minority experience is the one to plan around: generate more than you need, discard any photo that a friend would not instantly recognise as you, and never lead your profile with one.
TrueLook vs Aragon, dimension by dimension

Where Aragon is clearly better
- Professional headshots. This is Aragon's home ground. Its attire, backgrounds and framing are built for LinkedIn and company pages, and its review volume is large.
- A big batch of headshots for one payment. $45 gets 60 headshots in professional attire, about $0.75 each, which is cheaper per photo than TrueLook's Fix Pack.
- Teams. Aragon offers branded team headshots and company billing. TrueLook does not do team or corporate photos at all.
- Print resolution. The Executive package's 1792 × 2176 output is suited to print. TrueLook's photos are made for phone screens.
Where TrueLook fits better
- Scenes a dating profile needs. Cafés, travel, outdoors, evenings out, full-length shots, hobbies. Aragon has a dating pack, but its centre of gravity is the office.
- Likeness as the first rule. HyperReal™ keeps you, you: the face stays exactly the same, and only the place, outfit and light change. That matters more on a dating app, where a match will meet you in person, than on LinkedIn.
- One photo at a time, about a minute each. You can try a style, see the result and adjust, instead of waiting for a whole batch.
- Price per photo on the Pro Pack. $49, paid once, covers up to 140 photos, about $0.35 each, less than half Aragon's price per headshot.
- A free photo check first. Before you pay, you can upload your current dating photos and get a score, feedback on each and suggested styles.

The real price comparison
Price per image flatters any batch product, because you never use every image. A fairer question is: what does a usable set cost? A LinkedIn profile needs one photo. A dating profile needs four to six varied ones. So:
- Illustrative example, headshot buyer: you want one LinkedIn photo and a spare. Aragon Standard at $45 gives you 60 options to choose from. TrueLook is the wrong tool here.
- Illustrative example, dating profile: you want six different scenes, including a full-length shot and something outdoors. On Aragon, you would buy the dating pack or a headshot package with the outfits and backgrounds you need. On TrueLook's Fix Pack, $29 covers up to 30 photos, about 7 styles of 4 shots each, which leaves room to discard any that are not right.
- Over a year: neither renews, so a year costs what you bought: $29 or $49 on TrueLook, $35 to $75 on Aragon. If you want a refresh later, you buy again on either: another Aragon package, or another TrueLook pack or a one-time top-up.
The per-photo figures above use each pack's maximum. On TrueLook, one credit is one photo, and each style you pick makes 4.
Who should choose which
| If you… | Choose | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Need a LinkedIn or résumé headshot this week | Aragon | Built for it, one payment, professional attire and backdrops |
| Are arranging photos for a team or company page | Aragon | Team headshots and consistent branding; TrueLook does not offer this |
| Need a print-quality portrait | Aragon (Executive) | Higher-resolution output |
| Have a thin dating profile with old or repetitive photos | TrueLook | Varied everyday scenes made for dating apps |
| Care most that a date recognises you instantly | TrueLook | HyperReal™ changes the place, outfit and light, never your face |
| Want to try a style, look, then adjust | TrueLook | About a minute per photo, one at a time |
| Want 100 professional headshots in one batch | Aragon (Executive) | All attires and backgrounds, delivered together in about 15 minutes |
| Need both a LinkedIn headshot and dating photos | Both, or a photographer | Each tool is strongest at its own job |

Scenarios
Illustrative example: a 31-year-old consultant changing jobs. She needs a crisp headshot for LinkedIn and her firm's website by Friday. Aragon's Standard package covers this for one payment, and its outfit and background choices match corporate norms. A dating tool would be the wrong purchase.
Illustrative example: a 38-year-old engineer back on Hinge after a divorce. His photos are five years old, and most are cropped from group shots. He needs a clear recent face photo, a full-length shot, something outdoors and something social. A headshot batch would give him many versions of the first. TrueLook is built for the whole set.
Illustrative example: a founder who wants both. He uses an Aragon headshot for LinkedIn and his company's About page, and TrueLook for a casual Tinder set. Using the formal headshot as his first dating photo would read as a job application, so he keeps the two separate.
How to switch, or use both
If you already have Aragon photos, you do not need to throw them away. A sensible way to combine the two:
- Keep one Aragon headshot for work. LinkedIn, email signature, conference badges.
- Pick, at most, one Aragon image for dating, and only if it is relaxed: a smile, an outdoor background, no tie. Put it in position three or four, not first.
- Fill the rest of the dating profile with everyday scenes. A clear face photo to lead, then full-length, activity, social and travel shots. See our guide to the best dating profile photos for men or our guide to dating profile pictures for the full order.
- Check likeness before you post. Show the set to a friend. Remove anything they hesitate over.
- Re-verify after a big change. Hinge warns that changing photos can remove the Selfie Verified badge, so verify again with your final set.

Two other headshot-first products are compared on TrueLook vs HeadshotPro and TrueLook vs ProfileBakery.

The bottom line
Aragon is a mature, popular headshot product with a fair one-time price, a clear refund policy for undownloaded photos and a detailed privacy policy. If your goal is professional, it is a better fit than TrueLook, and we would say so to anyone who asked. If your goal is a dating profile that looks like your real life and your real face, TrueLook is built for that narrower job, one believable photo at a time.
